Twiners

A friend of mine is having twins in a few short weeks and I am getting so very excited.
I have made burp cloths for her and am waiting on the fabric to do some blankets and Car seat canopies for her. I just love little babes!
Here are just some of the fun stuff I have done!

Rear Facing Until 2

Yesterday I was watching the local morning show when they brought up the new recommendation for rear facing car seats. The age is now until 2!
They threw out the statistic that children who were rear facing until 2 were 75% less likely to die or have serious injuries in an accident. The statistic is staggering. It's a huge number of children who are safe after an accident. The old recommendation was 1 year old and 20 lbs.
My little boy didn't hit 20 lbs. until he was 14 months so he wasn't turned around until then. But being a parent whose child was turned around by the time he weighed enough, I 'm not sure if the next one will make it until 2. She is very petite and will probably be rear facing until 18 months since she probably won't hit 20 lbs. until then.
I remember it was heaven when my first turned around. He was so much more happy in his seat. Before I remember he would scream in his seat, just because he was bored and had figured out how to do it. I recall trying to avoid driving at all costs! If my girl starts doing it, she will definitely not be making it to 2 years! But I guess we will try and see. Not sure where her feet are going to go though...

The Nursing Frock

I came across this on etsy the other day. What an ingenious idea! The Nursing frock. It covers your front and back while nursing. The major reason why I avoid feeding my little one in public! Last thing I need is people check out my back. Talk about uncomfortable! Not to mention she has upgrades for ruffles on the front as well as pokcets. Looks like a shirt! So cute! Can't wait to get mine!
Well props to you Lady LaDuke!
Check her out on etsy too!

A Car Seat Canopy Plethora!

I have done several Car Seat Canopies lately. I am currently making another one. I love to do these. They are so much fun! I have recently changed the design to included elastic on the back. This helps keep the wind from catching the back and blowing it off. So much nicer!

My Little Obsessions

I have recently become obsessed with a few things sewing related. Well currently that is my only obsession.

1. Amy Butler's Little Stiches for Little Ones
I absolutely love this book. They have such adorable ideas! From a swaddling blanket, to crib bedding to toys such as: blocks, rattle lady bugs and butterflies and an adorable travel board book. I can't wait to tackle more of these little projects!

2. Amy Butler Fabric!
I just love her fabric. Our baby on the way's  rooms has been done entirely in Amy butler fabric! And I have found so many other projects to incorporate her fabric into!

3. Riley Blake All Star Fabric.
This is the cutest little boy fabric. The brown and blue, paisley and stripes would be so adorable for baby bedding or anything else! I can't wait to sew some more with it!
